WH040-Villa Del Sol

Our family had a blast at our OBX trip and as a family of 10 adults and 5 children, the house fit us perfectly. The rooms were really great sizes and recently upgraded the mattresses were very comfy (this was a huge plus). It's also really nice to have as many bathrooms as the property did and the new furniture made the house feel a bit more updated. We did however have a few issues with the house and some were addressed by the property management company. Major concerns which caused us to feel unsafe; the dryer was caked and I mean caked in lint and the lint screen was broken, even the exterior of the house was fully covered in lint - this is a HUGE fire hazard. The property management came out to address it but didn't have the proper snake to fully address the issue. Additionally, the outside of the house is really dirty and there weren't any cleaning items for us to clean up outside a bit. Lots of broken chairs and beach items just sitting in the pool area and the whole siding is covered in dirt. Overall we really loved the inside of the house but the outside definitely needs some updating and cleaning.

Julie, Thanks for your comments about your recent stay. Outer Banks Blue did make sure the dryer vent was cleared out, and the broken furniture removed.

We enjoyed our stay at this home. There was plenty of room for three large families and the home was well maintained and clean. The beds were comfortable and the pool area was pretty typical for Outer Banks homes. The pool and hot tub are well maintained and there's plenty of seating options in the shade around the pool. The best thing about this home is the proximity to the beautiful beach. The sand at the Corolla Beaches are softer than the Duck beachers and the slope of the sand is flatter which allows kids to wade out into the ocean without worries about them getting too deep too quickly. The neighborhood is quiet and flat which makes for some nice bike riding. Speaking of bike riding, the famous lighthouse and historic town is an easy bike ride away. My other favorite thing about this house is the deck built onto the roof. You can see an obstructed view of the ocean in the day but the real treat is hanging out up there at night. We were blessed with three extrememly clear nights in a row which allowed us to easily see the Milky Way with the naked eye. It was amazing to sit up there for hours at night, hang with friends while enjoying the sounds of the ocean. This home could use an upgrade with the grill situation but that is my only real complaint. We've used Outer Banks Blue three times now and I've always found them to be very responsive to any service requests. One of the kids in our party droppped and broke some glass on a Sunday and some the glass pieces got into the pool. A quick phone call later brought a pool service to fix the problem. This is a nice home with a great location.
