A beautiful house nestled deep in South Nags Head, “Fancy Free” is perfect for a family that enjoys cozy living right on the ocean. With ocean views from every level, you’ll never get tired of looking out over the deep blue sea. After a trip down to the beach over the private boardwalk, rinse off at the showerhead on the walkway and relax in the hot tub on the back deck. Enjoy billiards in the rec room on the second level, or step out onto the upper deck to really take in the sea breeze. With three king suites and a kid’s bedroom to suit your needs, you’ll be able to enjoy your vacation footloose and fancy-free!

All Outer Banks Blue properties provide bed linens and bath towels for a small fee added to every reservation. We provide 1 bath towel and washcloth per advertised occupant. Beds are made prior to your arrival, and we provide a starter supply of toilet paper, bathroom soap, paper towels, and dishwasher detergent.

Top notch vacation spot!
This is a rare property...one where you can kick off you shoes and sit back and relax. OR you can hit the beach, which is right in front of you! I strongly recommend you try out these wonderful accommodations. You'll love it!

My second home
I love this house! Full disclosure: My parents are the owners and we’ve been staying at this house in the off season since I was a kid. I also lived here briefly after graduating from college. But having also stayed at other OBX rentals, I can genuinely say this is one of the most well kept and supplied houses out there! It’s also a perfect location, with the walkway straight out to the beach and only a short walk in the other direction to shops and restaurants. It really is the best beach house in Nags Head!

Great house
We have vacationed at this house several times. We love the location, the hot tub and over-all set up of the house. Our favorite part is the upstairs area which has an amazing view of the beach, puzzle table and pool table. Lots of space to relax and enjoy spending time together. The house is well-stocked and comfortable.

Great vaca
Fantastic Beach House with Spectacular View. We spent five days at this amazing beach house, and it exceeded all our expectations! The view was absolutely breathtaking — the kind you can’t get enough of. The home itself was spacious and perfect for our family, with plenty of room for everyone to spread out and relax. The kitchen was a standout feature, fully stocked with everything we needed to cook meals for the whole family. It made meal prep easy and enjoyable. The house was modern, spotlessly clean, and well-maintained, offering a fresh and welcoming atmosphere. There was no shortage of activities, whether you’re looking to stay busy or just unwind. From relaxing on the deck with a cup of coffee to enjoying the entertainment options indoors, this house had it all. Whether you're looking for fun or simply want to relax and soak in the beauty, this place has something for everyone. We loved every moment of our stay and would highly recommend this beach house to anyone looking for the perfect getaway!

Family Reunion - Perfect Vacation Home
We had a family reunion of three generations and over 25 people so this year we rented Fancy Free and the house next door - Footloose. Fancy Free offered gathering space for all the senior adults to have a quiet space with a well stocked kitchen that enabled us to cook meals for everyone. Games, beach supplies, hot tub, and upper deck to watch the kids on the beach were awesome. The grandkids were always content on the beach or in the house. We have stayed here many times over the past 10 years and every other summer we look forward to all the new improvements the owners do regularly. The home is always in good repair and furnishings are clean and plentiful. We will return again next year.

Perfect for all ages
We have been going to the Outer Banks to start our summer for years. This year, there were three families (6 adults and 6 kids). Fancy Free was perfect. Adults had their own space, kids had a great bunk room and there were so many things to do, even on the rainy days we had. Having two different gathering areas to play games and be together indoors was super nice. Needless to say, when possible we were on the beach which was not crowded near the house (it is a huge beach). We were walking distance to both piers and a trip to the aquarium is always fun when you can walk and play along the beach. We will return.

Perfect!
I have stayed at Fancy Free several times over the years and have enjoyed it each and every time! The views are great, just a walk over the dunes to the beach. It is furnished with comfort and relaxation in mind, especially for large gatherings, Kids have a play room and adults have a play room furnished with a pool table and corner tables for visiting in small groups, The kitchen is well-stocked. It is the perfect place for family gatherings, large or small.

Perfect family house!
My family and I have stayed at this property multiple times, and have always had a wonderful time! We have little kids, and having a play room with lots of activities is KEY. The older kids love the pool table and hot tub. The adults love the view and the ability to walk right out to the beach. Everyone has their own space. Kitchen has everything we could need to cook a big meal. We look forward to our next trip at Fancy Free!

Great Place!
We had many great times at Fancy Free. Very open, plenty of room for all guests. Great view from the top deck or while playing pool. Comfy beds and rooms. Very convenient location as well. I am sure we will be back.
