Housekeeping Coordinator
Outer Banks Blue Realty Services seeks to fill the position of Housekeeping Coordinator for the Kitty Hawk office. This role is a key position within the company in the delivery of customer service to our guests and homeowners. This is not an entry-level position.
Reports to: Housekeeping Manager
Other Department Relationships: Property Services, Rentals, Reservations, Laundry, and Maintenance
Work Week: TBD (Weekends required)
Job Requirements:
· Support and assist the housekeeping manager in:
o Coordinate the activities of Field Maintenance Technicians and keep them highly organized and efficient
o Create and/or update our standard and training documentation in both English and Spanish
o Provide training to our professional cleaners and ensure understanding by them
o Coordinate and keep the team up-to-date with the status of private or commercial cleans
· Utilize our technology systems to properly create, update, and close out work tasks
· Clearly and quickly communicate with homeowners and guests on any housekeeping issues that may arise
· Partner with the Housekeeping Manager on improving cleaner efficiency and effectiveness
· Investigate housekeeping compensation requests.
o Utilize the 5-Why problem solving methodology to get to the root cause of the problem
· Regular meetings with management to review expenses and give advice on improving financial operations of the department
· Other tasks and duties as requested
Critical Skills:
· Fluency in Spanish is required
· Ability to manage constant flow of work and communicate clearly via e-mail, text, phone and written word in both English and Spanish
· Problem solving using facts and data
· Positive ‘get it done’ attitude
Minimum requirements:
· High School education (or GED). 2-year+ college experience preferred
· Reliable transportation and report to work on-time
· Demonstrated experience using MS Office applications (or similar)
· Background in customer service and housekeeping
· No conflict of interest with additional jobs “on the side.”
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to work long periods in an office environment
