Community Rules
- Garbage containers (trash and recyclables) will be taken to the curb by an independent service on Sunday for a pick up on Monday. Beginning May 1, the garbage containers (trash and recyclables) will be taken to the curb by the independent service again on Thursday for a pick up on Friday. The garbage containers will be returned to their storage place on your premises by the independent service on Monday and Thursday after the collections. Please do not take the trash to the curb.
- The ocean dunes provide habitat for highly specialized plants and animals, including rare and endangered species. They also protect the beach from erosion, recruit sand to eroded beaches and offer the first line of protection for the Spindrift homes from storm water damage. The dunes are highly susceptible to the vagaries of Mother Nature and highly sensitive to any number of human activities; as such, the dunes need to have limited interaction with humans in order for their protection and survival. We ask that you refrain from walking or playing on any portion of the dunes. Please use the steps provided.
- If you are in a dog-friendly home we ask that you pick up after your dog. In addition, Corolla has leashing laws. Be certain that your dog is restrained around your house, in the streets, and on the beach.
- Smokers are requested to refrain from discarding their cigar or cigarette butts along the common areas, streets, paths, etc.
- Please take all refuse from snacks and drinks back to your rental house for disposal. Do not dispose of the refuse near the walkways or properties along the route to the beach.
- Be advised that the County has strict laws governing tents and chairs left on the beach after dark. Tents and chairs will be removed by County employees.
- Please use the beach to its best advantage; however, if you dig holes, please be kind enough to fill the hole before dark. Many people go to the beach in the evening. We don’t want people falling into holes and hurting themselves.
- Be aware that the use of fireworks is illegal. The fine may not be worth the fun but, more importantly, the danger of fire is significant. Fires on the beach are fast moving and devastating.
