Visitor Restrictions Lifted
Earlier today it was announced that the restriction of visitors to Currituck, Dare and Hyde Counties will be lifted beginning Saturday, May 16th.
Guests who are scheduled to arrive that weekend are being contacted by our reservations team and advising them that Outer Banks Blue looks forward to welcoming our valued guests to the beach and is prepared for your stay, and for your safety.
More information regarding those preparations and our heightened cleaning practices will be delivered to our arriving guests prior to their arrival. You may also look for a Frequently Asked Questions tab on our site where more information can be found.
The announcement of the opening of the Outer Banks follows Governor Roy Cooper's announcement yesterday of a modification of the statewide stay at home order which has been in place for several weeks. The Governor announced a phased opening of the state to begin this Friday.
Here's the entirety of the announcement made today by Dare County Commission Chairman Bob Woodard.
Restrictions Still Apply
It is important for arriving guests to understand that there are still restrictions in place in North Carolina which will impact their stay.
Among the things guests should be aware of are:
-Social distancing of at least 6 feet should be employed during your stay.
-The use of a facemask is no longer required when entering a public place such as a grocery store, drug store, home improvement center, or shop, but it it strongly recommended, and some merchants may still require such use.
-Stores will have a limit on the number of occupants that can be in the facility based on the square footage of the building. Businesses impacted by this limitation will have an employee at the entrance to monitor the occupancy of the store.
-Some supplies are in limited quantities at our local stores, and visitors should expect that some items will be in short supply and limits on the number of items that can be purchased are in place. Items such as toilet paper, chicken, and fresh produce are in limited supply at this time and arriving guests in the month of May should plan accordingly.
We thank you all for your patience during this extremely difficult time. Outer Banks Blue's goal will always be to keep our guests, our property owners, and our employees safe through this pandemic. We are sure you are looking forward to getting away to the Outer Banks for a relaxing stay, and it is our goal to provide you the best possible experience for your rental property.
